Commodore International is a US-based home computer and electronics manufacturer that was Chelsea's shirt sponsor from 1987 until 1994, and the club's first long-term sponsor. From 1993 Chelsea's shirts featured Commodore's Amiga brand. The company played a vital role in the development of the home–personal computer industry in the 1980s. In 1982 Commodore developed and marketed the world's best-selling desktop computer, the Commodore 64, and later released the Amiga range of computers in 1985. The brand has survived as a minor operator in the PC market, following various bankruptcies and mergers. [1]
