James "Jimmy" Stark (born 1880) was a Scottish centre half who played for Chelsea during the 1907-08 season, having signed from Glasgow Rangers.
Stark joined Rangers from junior side Glasgow Perthshire in May 1900. He was noted as being the only player to captain Rangers to the Glasgow Exhibition Cup in 1901. He had seven successful yeas at Ibrox, winning the league twice and a Scottish Cup, before moving to Chelsea in 1907.
Stark made his debut against Blackburn Rovers on 5 October 1907, and played in the vast majority of games for the rest of the season, helping Chelsea avoid relegation in the club's first top-flight season. He also scored in two matches; against Preston North End and Wednesday. It would be Stark's only season at Stamford Bridge; the Scot returned to Rangers at the end of the season. He went on to win two Scotland caps in 1909 and was captain of the side for both matches.[1]
