Before Chelsea

Guadalajara

Dávila impressed in the youth ranks at Guadalajara (Chivas), helping the youth team to the National Youth Championship in 2006, scoring the only goal in a 1-0 win over Pachuca to seal the title. He made his debut in the Primera Division on 29 August 2009, in a 2-2 draw against Pachuca.

Chelsea career

On 27 August 2011, it was announced that Dávila had signed for Chelsea, signing a 5-year contract.[1] He was loaned to Vitesse for the season three days later, in order to help him acclimatise to European football. He failed to make an impact during his time in the Netherlands, making just two first team appearances and spending the majority of the season with the reserve squad.

Prior to the 2012-13 season he joined Second Division side CE Sabadell on a season-long loan. He featured on a regular basis for a team which improved from relegation strugglers to mid-table security, and scored five goals across all competitions whilst weighing in with a similar number of assists.

Despite spending pre-season with Chelsea, he returned to the Spanish second tier for 2013-14 but this time with promotion-chasing Córdoba. His first goals of the season came with a hat-trick at home to Hércules in mid-November and whilst he wasn't always a regular, he did play a decisive role in their campaign by netting a stoppage-time winner in their final game of the season - a playoff against Las Palmas - to secure the club's first promotion to La Liga in 42 years.

He didn't get the opportunity to play top-flight football though, instead heading back to the same level to play for Tenerife this time. Well-versed in La Segunda, he did well enough before Christmas but ran afoul of the club's administrators when late back from Christmas in Mexico and so a mid-season change of scenery was in order. It came in the form of a move to Portugal and Vitória Setúbal, where he played regularly but did little of tangible note.

Nevertheless he returned there again for the start of the 2015-16 season before sealing a permanent move back to Mexico with Santos Laguna in December 2015.

International

Having been called up to the Mexico under-17 squad for the 2009 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Egypt, Dávila has represented Mexico under-20s at the 2011 CONCACAF U-20 Championship (which Mexico won), in addition to the 2011 Toulon Tournament and the 2011 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Colombia, in which he helped Mexico to a third place finish in the competition.

Dávila was called up to the senior national team for the 2011 Copa America, as a late replacement for one of five suspended players, and in 2013 was named in the provisional squad for the Gold Cup, but is yet to be capped at senior level as of June 2013.
