Brian Bason (born 3 September 1955 in Epsom) is a former midfielder who played for Chelsea between 1972 and 1977, having made his debut shortly after turning 17. He made three further appearances during the 1972-73 season, but didn't play for the first team during 1973-74.
Bason made 22 appearances in total for the Blues, scoring once. He played occasionally during the 1975-76 season, and started in a run of games from mid-September in 1976-77, but suffered a double fracture to his leg during a League Cup tie against Arsenal in late October. It would turn out to be his last appearance for the Blues; the young midfielder left for Plymouth Argyle a few months later, where he would feature regularly. He later played for Crystal Palace, Portsmouth and Reading. In 2000 he was running a guest house in Truro. [1]
