Notes
This truly was “a game of 2 halves” or, more to the point, 2 games each of 45 minutes duration.
The day after this match Cambridge were due to play Margate, needing a victory to retain their Southern League Championship – something which they succeeded in doing – so their manager did not wish to risk his players for a full 90- minute match.
Accordingly after “half-time”, the Cambridge team consisted of their goalkeeper plus the Chelsea reserve players.
It is assumed that the "Chelsea" side was unaltered.
In effect, Chelsea beat Cambridge 1-0, in the first game and were beaten 4-2 by their reserves in the second game!
For this reason, this template is probably unique in this whole Wiki!
