Pre-Chelsea career
Danny was a member of the Chelsea academy from a young age and earned scholarship terms for the 2001-02 season.
Chelsea career
Danny performed well in the Under-18 team and progressed into the reserves after signing professional terms in 2003. He captained Mick McGiven's side and was amongst the team's highest rated players.
A loan spell in 2006 at Torquay United preceded his departure on a free transfer, and he signed permanently with Bournemouth in the summer of the same year.
International
Danny never achieved international representation.

Post Chelsea Career
Danny spent five successful years at Bournemouth, racking up over 200 appearances and a spell as captain. In July 2011 he joined League One promotion contenders Charlton Athletic on a free transfer and scored seven goals as they won the title and returned to English football's second tier.
In June 2014 he signed for Portsmouth after a successful loan spell.
