Jack Cork (born 25 June 1989) is a midfielder and occasional defender who formerly played for Chelsea's Youth and Reserve teams.

Before Chelsea
Jack was at Chelsea from the age of 9, and is the son of well-travelled striker Alan Cork.
Chelsea career
A naturally versatile player, Jack is mainly at home in a defensive midfield role, but he can also play to some effect at right-back and centre-back. He played almost a full season for the Under-18 team as a schoolboy and carried on his fine form to captain both them and the Reserve team. A natural leader, he’s not your typical vocal and passionate captain but he’s a cool and experienced head on young shoulders and leads by example.
In 2006-07 he spent some time on loan at Bournemouth, earning rave reviews and proving to the Chelsea staff he needed a loan at a more testing level. After featuring in pre-season for the full Chelsea team in the USA in the 2007 summer, he linked up with Scunthorpe United in The Championship for an initial six month loan that turned into a full season deal after he played exceptionally, making a case to be their Player of the Season (and winning the Young Player award).
Another season of Championship football followed in 2008-09 where first he ventured to Southampton, but finished up at Watford under Brendan Rodgers. Once again, he showed his ability at this level and broke into the England Under-21 squad on a regular basis, although failed to make a start.
Further temporary moves came in 2009-10, with a return to the second tier at Coventry City for the first half of the season going well enough to finally earn a crack at the top flight. Burnley stepped up to the plate in January 2010 and took Jack on a five-month loan, and early signs were impressive, as he picked up an assist in his first start in Premier League football.
After spending pre-season with Chelsea, Jack was once again loaned out for the 2010-11 season, returning to Burnley for the duration of the campaign. He was told he could leave on a permanent basis during the campaign.
International
Jack has represented England at every youth level from Under-16 to Under-21, and has on occasion been captain. He was a regular in the Under-21 squad but mostly appeared as a substitute.

Post Chelsea Career
Jack signed with Southampton in July 2011 for a fee believed to be in the region of £2m and played a key role first in their promotion back to the Premier League, and then in an impressive season once they had returned. He moved to Swansea during the 2014-15 season.
