Pre-Chelsea career
Jamal and his family moved to Chelsea in 2011 when he impressed at a football tournament in Southampton while in the country during the course of his mother's studying. He joined Chelsea when they moved over permanently for family and job reasons.
Chelsea career
Jamal officially made his Under-18 debut at the end of the 2017-18 season in a match against Arsenal that saw both clubs use Under-15 squads. He made two appearances the following season in his Under-16 season.
Before signing his scholarship, however, he decided to return to Germany and join Bayern Munich.
International
Jamal has represented both England and Germany at Under-16 level, and remains eligible to feature for either until he features at competitive Under-17 level, at which point he can only make one further switch in his career.
