Pre-Chelsea career
Kenny played for Manchester United for three seasons, one as a schoolboy and then a two-year youth scholarship which expired in the summer of 2009. Trials at various clubs ranging from Championship level to the Blue Square Premier were unsuccessful, and so with Chelsea suffering a defensive shortage in their academy with the long-term injury suffered by Rohan Ince, Kenny signed a short-term deal.
Chelsea career
He did enough to turn that into a season-long deal, the equivalent of a third year youth scholarship. An ever-present in the Under-18s until the turn of the year, his composed and quietly authoritative performances at the heart of the defence kept a largely impressive defensive record, and he earned reserve consideration for his work, especially for his goal against Aston Villa for the reserve team in February 2010.
International
Kenny has no international representation to date.
