Before Chelsea

Sarr joined Chelsea in August 2020 on a free transfer. Shortly after signing, he was loaned to FC Porto for the season to gain Champions League experience. His time in Portugal was limited, however, as he made just a handful of appearances across league and cup competitions before returning to Chelsea the following summer.

Chelsea career

Returning to Stamford Bridge, Sarr was used primarily as a squad player. He made several appearances in domestic competitions and featured sporadically in the Premier League, often filling in at left centre-back or left-back when injuries struck. He was part of the squad that won the UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup, gaining valuable experience despite limited minutes.

In search of regular football, Sarr joined AS Monaco on loan. Back in Ligue 1, he featured more consistently, making over 20 league appearances. His performances were solid rather than spectacular, offering defensive stability and tactical flexibility across the back line.

Sarr returned once again to Chelsea for the 2023-24 season but found no opportunities to perform amid a crowded defensive group. He did not make a competitive appearance during the season and remained on the fringes of the first-team squad before eventually leaving the club, joining Lens.

International

Eligible for both France and Senegal, Sarr represented France at youth levels up to U21, captaining the side on occasion. In 2021, he switched allegiance to Senegal and earned his senior international debut later that year, adding international experience to his résumé.
