The Metropolitan League had two subsidiary competitions, one being the Metropolitan League Challenge Cup and the other being the Metropolitan League Professional Cup.

With regard to the Metropolitan League Challenge Cup Chelsea were not quite so successful as in the Professional Cup. However, they were winners in 1954/55, as well as being losing semi-finalists in two other seasons.
