Before Chelsea

Madueke was born in Barnet, London, and is of Nigerian descent. He joined the Crystal Palace academy before moving to Tottenham Hotspur at a young age. In 2018, he made the decision to leave England and signed with Dutch side PSV Eindhoven, where he rapidly progressed through the youth ranks into the first team.

At PSV, Madueke impressed with his direct playing style, scoring and assisting regularly, and helping the club win the Johan Cruyff Shield in 2021 and the KNVB Cup in 2022.

Chelsea career

2022–23 Season

On 20 January 2023, Madueke signed for Chelsea FC on a seven-and-a-half-year contract, with an option for a further year. The transfer fee was reported to be around £28.5 million (€35 million). He became part of a large cohort of young signings under Chelsea's new ownership, aiming to rebuild the squad with a focus on youth development.

Madueke made his Chelsea debut on 3 February 2023 in a Premier League match against Fulham, coming off the bench in a 0–0 draw. His first start followed shortly after, and he showed glimpses of his flair and technical quality despite Chelsea's overall struggles during the second half of the season.

He scored his first goal for the club on 2 May 2023, netting against Arsenal in a 3–1 defeat at the Emirates Stadium. Throughout the 2022–23 campaign, Madueke made 12 Premier League appearances, contributing one goal and one assist as Chelsea finished in the bottom half of the table.

2023–24 Season

Under new head coach Mauricio Pochettino, Madueke saw increased involvement during the 2023–24 season. Primarily operating as a right winger, he showcased his ability to beat defenders one-on-one and create chances, although competition for places remained fierce with teammates like Raheem Sterling and Cole Palmer.

Madueke had a productive spell in the second half of the 2023–24 season, recording several important goals and assists, including a standout performance against Crystal Palace where he scored and assisted in a 3–1 victory.
