Sam Hurrell (born 13 July 1988 in Ickenham, Middlesex, London) is a full-back who formerly played for Chelsea's Academy team.

Pre-Chelsea career
Sam was the winner of the inaugural Football Icon competition, held by Chelsea and televised in a series on Sky One. Sam, a Blues fan and an energetic full-back or winger playing for Vymers School, won ahead of Mark Gradosielski and Dee Okojie to earn a six-month professional contract at the club.
Chelsea career
Sam went straight into the Under-18 team and thrived early in his Chelsea career, playing with an aggressive, terrier-like attitude either in defence or midfield. He scored the occasional goal but rarely showed the quality to make the step up to reserve level.
In 2007 he was released from his contract at Chelsea.
International
Sam has not represented England at any level.

Post Chelsea Career
After trials at Leyton Orient and Bradford City, Sam settled in non-league football at Welling United. He moved onto St. Alban's City and has done some part-time youth coaching at both Chelsea and Tottenham.
He spent 2010-11 at Woking and moved on to Boreham Wood FC for 2011-12, but didn't stay long before joining the New Orleans Jesters in the United States. Spells at Hampton & Richmond and the Met Police followed, before he was named as manager of Hillingdon Borough in November 2012 at the tender age of 24. He is currently working with the Chelsea Academy at the younger age levels.
