Playing 2 games on the same day in different towns led to a problem for Chelsea and they were forced to find two local lads, Willie Brown and J Briggs.
Jack Harrow came out of retirement, his last competitive match having been 3 years earlier! In addition Jack Whitley, the club ttrainer, was also brought out of retirement at the age of 51!
