Although Chelsea played 2 Pre-Season practise matches at the start of the 1928/29 season, it is not known if they played any friendly matches during the season.
However, at the end of the season they played 16 games in forty-four days in South America.
This meant an estimated 17,500 mile round trip, including travel between grounds, during a total 'break' of around 3 months.
