Derrick joined Chelsea as an Under-11.
Chelsea career
Derrick made twelve appearances in his first season as a scholar, mostly as a wing-back, but occasionally in a side role in a back three. He featured more often in 2021-22, playing 18 games and finding an involvement in seven goals, including important performances en route to the FA Youth Cup Semi Finals. Finding opportunities harder to come by in 2022-23 moving up to the Development Squad, he trialled elsewhere before leaving on a free in June 2023.
