LFA Challenge Cup
From TheChels.info - The Chelsea Football Club Wiki
The London Challenge Cup was a football tournament organised by the London FA. The London Challenge Cup was first contested in 1908, and other than during the World Wars, was contested every season until 1974, when the tournament was discontinued.
Originally these matches were contested by the First team squads, but, following the resumption of football after the First World War, the matches were played by the Second team squads of the Professional Clubs. This gave the opportunity for the 'minor' clubs to face opposition and, when playing at home, obtain a reasonable chance of winning, as well as getting a fairly good crowd.
Chelsea won the competition for the first time in the 1919/20 season and followed this up with further wins in 1926/27, 1949/50, 1959/60, 1960/61, and they were runners-up on four occasions.
