Valentino joined the academy as an Under-8.
Chelsea career
Valentino made his Under-18 debut during the 2018-19 season, and also made his UEFA Youth League bow that same year. He quickly pushed on in his first year as a scholar, finishing the season as a Development Squad regular and a part of the 'first team bubble' when the Premier League season restarted after the Covid-19 interruption. As one of the Dev Squad's outstanding players in 2020-21, he racked up double figures in assists and overall goal contributions while earning himself a place in end-of-season Premier League matchday squads, and was named the Academy Player of the Season.
In August 2021 he joined Southampton on a permanent deal.
International
Valentino has represented England up to Under-20 level. He also remains eligible to play for Portugal.
