Before Chelsea
Buonanotte came through Rosario Central’s youth academy, joining at age 10. He made his senior debut in early 2022, scored his first professional goal in July of that year, and quickly attracted attention for his creativity, technical skill, and dribbling ability. In January 2023 he moved to Brighton & Hove Albion, where he began integrating into Premier League football, making substitute appearances, contributing goals and assists, and showing flashes of promise in the attacking midfield / wing positions.
Seeking more regular first-team football, Buonanotte spent the 2024-25 season on loan at Leicester City. He featured in 31 Premier League games, scoring 5 goals and providing several assists, becoming an important attacking option through the final third. This spell helped him grow physical resilience, positional awareness, and match sharpness against Premier League opposition.
Chelsea career
Buonanotte made his competitive debut for Chelsea shortly after joining, featuring sparingly in the Premier League and primarily appearing in domestic cup competitions. His only goal for the club came in the EFL Cup, while his league involvement remained limited. Although initially left out of Chelsea’s UEFA Champions League squad, he was later registered following squad adjustments, though his overall role in European competition was minimal.
In January 2026, Chelsea and Brighton mutually agreed to terminate the loan early in order for Buonanotte to pursue more regular first-team football.
