Before Chelsea

João Pedro began his senior career at Fluminense, breaking through in 2019 and displaying early promise as a modern forward. In 2020, he moved to Watford, where across three seasons he played 109 league matches, scored 24 goals, and added 8 assists. His pace, intelligence, and finishing abilities helped him adapt to English football, even as Watford battled relegation and promotion. He signed for Brighton in July 2023, becoming their record signing at around £30 million. He made an immediate impact, scoring 9 Premier League goals in 31 appearances and a total of 20 goals over 40 games in all competitions. He also impressed in the Europa League, scoring 6 goals in 6 matches. His ability to press defenders, link with wide players, and score key goals marked him out as one of England’s rising stars. Continuing his form, Pedro was a standout for Brighton in the early part of the 2024–25 season. His performances attracted interest from top clubs as Brighton placed a high transfer valuation on the Brazilian forward.

On 8 July 2025, he scored twice in the semi-final against his childhood club, Fluminense. In the final, he capped off the tournament by netting the third goal in Chelsea’s 3–0 triumph over Paris Saint-Germain.
